About The Position

The Paint Control (PLC) will provide Onsite and Remote Support Services for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and is responsible for, but not limited to the following: Supporting the continuous operation and optimal performance of PLCs used in various manufacturing processes within the facility. Ensure uninterrupted operation of PLC-controlled equipment and systems in the automotive assembly facility. Provide timely troubleshooting and resolution of PLC-related issues to minimize downtime and production losses. Assist in PLC programming, configuration, and software updates to enhance functionality and efficiency. Respond promptly to requests for assistance related to PLCs via phone, email, or Onsite and Remote communication tools. Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC-related issues, including hardware failures, software errors, and communication problems. Utilize Onsite and Remote access tools to connect to PLC systems and perform diagnostic tests, program modifications, and system adjustments as necessary. Collaborate with onsite maintenance personnel to execute Onsite and Remote troubleshooting procedures and implement corrective actions. Provide guidance and expertise in PLC programming, configuration, and parameter adjustments to optimize system performance and meet production requirements. Document support interactions, including issue descriptions, troubleshooting steps, and resolution outcomes. Offer training sessions and knowledge transfer sessions to facility personnel

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in electrical engineering, or equivalent, and/or with 5 years controls experience
  • Develop and maintain PLC control systems using Allen Bradley Studio 5000.
  • Maintain Safety equipment such as Safety PLCs, light Curtains, Fanuc DCS.
  • Develop and maintain HMI systems using Allen Bradley Factory Talk View ME Software.
  • Understand and follow Stellantis (Chrysler, FCA)  PLC and HMI programming standards.
  • Understand and control ABB and Fanuc Robots, including app errors and functions.
  • Install and maintain SEW, Allen Bradley and Nidec/Comau Frequency Drives.
  • Proficiency in Windows and networking.
  • Experienced in DeviceNet and Ethernet controls networks.
  • Proficient in RsNetworx.
  • Experience with Stellantis FIS system, including workbook modifications.
  • Ability to communicate, instruct changes and document as needed.
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing including Sealer/Adhesive, Resistance and Mig welding, Belt transfers, robotic material handling, etc..
  • Understand and follow legislative safety standards and regulations (CSA).
  • Must be able to work under pressure with tight deadlines, multiple priorities and fluctuating and conflicting schedules
  • Must have superior time management skills and the ability to multi-task with multiple projects
  • Hold a valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Knowledge of safety controls and electrical codes

Nice To Haves

  • First Aid skills and/or certificates are considered an asset
