About The Position

As a member of the Maintenance team, the PLC COOP reports to the PLC Specialist. The PLC COOP is responsible for designing control systems for new machines, troubleshooting and/or modifying existing. Define and execute continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

  • A three-year advanced diploma or a degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or relative areas
  • Able to understand electrical drawings
  • Part of a program including programing courses.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint or data and presentations software
  • Proficient in English
  • Good interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and implements Control Systems Programs PLC’s (Allen Bradley and Siemens) Programs
  • HMI & servo systems and VFDs Programs
  • robotics and automation systems
  • Program and trouble shoot Vision systems (IR vision, Cognex, Keyence, Omron)
  • Designs control panels, wiring diagrams and BOM
  • Instructs maintenance personnel on the use, functionality, and programming of all automation systems
  • Mentors licensed Electricians and help them develop PLC programming and troubleshooting skills
  • Assists in automation cell improvements and actively implements continuous improvement initiatives related to automation and robotics.
  • Adheres to Johnson Electric’s policies and procedures
  • Adheres and supports Johnson Electric’s Safety and Environmental policies and practices
  • Other duties as assigned
