About The Position

The job of Playground Assistant is done for the purpose of monitoring students and the recess environment; maintaining playground equipment; and evaluating situations to ensure a safe environment for students, staff and the District. This job reports to Building Administrator.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains recess equipment and playground for the purpose of ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.
  • Monitors students for the purpose of ensuring the safety and welfare of students.
  • Performs inventory of recess equipment (e.g. balls, cones, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of items for students use.
  • Prepares a variety of reports for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.
  • Responds to inquiries (e.g. students, teachers, administrators, and/or parents) for the purpose of solving problems, providing information and/or directing to other sources.
  • Assists students with schoolwork for the purpose of providing leadership and guidance.
  • Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
