About The Position

The Playbook Sports Bar Host is responsible for greeting and seating guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. The Host manages the flow of reservations to ensure an exceptional dining experience. Duties include answering the phone, booking reservations using the Open Table System, and managing take-out orders. A polished appearance, strong communication skills, and a friendly, professional demeanor are essential for success in this role.

Requirements

Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal form.
Must be able to speak, read, and write fluently in English.
One (1) year of experience in gourmet, contemporary dining, or high-volume restaurants.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must possess or obtain a California Food Handler Certification.

Responsibilities

Redefining hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and promoting company values.
Performing responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.
Greeting all guests promptly, warmly, and professionally upon arrival.
Managing reservations, waitlists, and walk-in guests using OpenTable.
Escorting guests to their tables, presenting menus and explaining daily specials if needed.
Following the steps of service as outlined by the department on a consistent basis.
Maintaining an organized and clean host stand, lobby, and entrance area at all times.
Communicating wait times clearly and accurately to guests.
Monitoring dining room flow and seating guests in a balanced manner for server sections.
Answering the telephone promptly and professionally; assisting with guest inquiries and requests.
Taking and managing take-out orders.
Working closely with the management team and service staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Following all company, departmental, and health and safety policies and procedures.
Performing opening, closing, and side duties as assigned by management.
Promoting and maintaining a positive and cooperative team environment.
Maintaining a polished, professional appearance in compliance with grooming standards.
