About The Position

This position is accountable for assisting with the management, preparation and review of right-of-way plats, plans, legal descriptions, court exhibits, and related documents required for the acquisition and disposal of right-of-way (ROW) for highway improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Completion of two years of college in civil engineering technology, pre-engineering or a job related technical/science curriculum PLUS thirty months of engineering; OR six years of engineering experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Occasional districtwide travel.
  • Successful completion of a background screening.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains accurate physical and digital records of right-of-way (ROW) owned or controlled by the department.
  • Searches various records to determine property ownership.
  • Assists others in finding ROW information for construction and survey work.
  • Assists with the management/preparation and review of ROW plats, plans, legal descriptions, Land Acquisition Status spreadsheets, and other related documents.
  • Reviews the work of internal staff and consultants for accurate and conformance to state policies.
  • Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules.
  • Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
