Platform Site Lead - Forward Deployed Engineer
About The Position
Serve as the customer site lead, representing Clarity and providing technical platform engineering and infrastructure stability in support of high-complexity cyber operations. The role involves live Linux system triage, identity management integration using Authentik, Go and Python development, Terraform infrastructure automation, Docker builds, network and routing debugging using WireGuard and packet analysis, and deploying emerging AI/LLM tooling into operational workflows. The position requires adapting to changing needs, learning new best practices, and doing what is required to support the mission. The site lead leads a multifunctional technical capability team, develops domain expertise, guides technical practices and standards, and supports workforce development and capability improvements aligned with mission needs. The role provides technical leadership to engineers and specialists while contributing as an individual technical expert when needed, and typically supervises experienced technical staff.
Requirements
- Typically requires a university degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
- Linux systems and CLI troubleshooting.
- Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform/HCL.
- Go and Python systems development.
- Networking and packet analysis, including TCP/IP, routing, and WireGuard.
Nice To Haves
- Technical team management.
- Security engineering fundamentals, including PKI, X.509 certificates, least privilege, and threat modeling.
- Reverse engineering or vulnerability research basics, including debuggers, disassemblers, and binary tracing.
- Kubernetes cluster deployment and pod networking.

Responsibilities
- Represent Clarity as the customer site lead and lead a multifunctional team.
- Provide technical platform engineering and infrastructure stability supporting high-complexity cyber operations.
- Perform live Linux system triage and troubleshoot infrastructure, identity management, networking, and routing.
- Develop systems using Go and Python and automate infrastructure with Terraform.
- Build Docker containers and support CI/CD workflows.
- Deploy emerging AI/LLM tooling into operational workflows.
- Lead a technical capability team and advance domain expertise within the organization.
- Guide technical practices, standards, and workforce development within a capability area.
- Provide technical leadership to engineers and specialists while contributing as an individual technical expert when needed.
- Support capability improvements and implement technical strategies aligned with mission needs.
- Typically supervise experienced technical staff within a capability area.
