About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a strong systems thinking leader for end-to-end ownership of platform services, ensuring alignment between business needs, customer experience, and technology delivery. This role acts as the bridge between engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to drive reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement of enterprise platforms. PSMs oversee the lifecycle of services—from planning and delivery through ongoing optimization—while ensuring high availability, performance, and customer satisfaction. In this role, you will: Lead complex, broad impact initiatives including provision of high level systems consultation for the technology teams Work as key participant in large scale planning of computer systems and network infrastructure for Systems Operations functional area Review and analyze complex technical challenges, as well as escalated support issues related to core business solutions that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors, such as alternatives, enhancements, periodic systems reviews, or improvements to existing systems Make decisions on technical changes and enhancements Consult with engineering team on change design requiring solid understanding of technical process controls or standards that influence and drive new initiatives Collaborate and consult with technical peers, colleagues, and mid to more experienced level managers to resolve systems support issues and achieve goals

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • Demonstrated systems thinking mindset with the ability to understand complex, interconnected platform ecosystems (applications, infrastructure, data, and operational processes) and anticipate downstream impacts of changes across the environment
  • Proven critical thinking capability grounded in engineering experience, including the ability to decompose complex problems, identify root causes, and drive structured, data-informed decision making
  • Deep experience operating in engineering-led environments (e.g., platform engineering, SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure), with strong technical fluency across distributed systems and enterprise architectures
  • Working knowledge of enterprise architecture domains (application, data, infrastructure, and cloud), with the ability to interpret and support architecture designs within L2 production support contexts
  • Experience supporting applications across hybrid environments, including on-prem data center platforms, virtualized infrastructure, and public/private cloud architectures (e.g., Azure, distributed platforms), with an understanding of underlying infrastructure dependencies
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot issues through an architectural lens, leveraging knowledge of application flows, data movement, caching, messaging, and upstream/downstream dependencies to accelerate root cause identification
  • Familiarity with architectural artifacts and standards, such as logical/physical architecture diagrams, L2/L3 architecture specifications, system inventories, and application portfolios, and the ability to use them effectively in incident and change analysis
  • Understanding of non-functional architecture principles (resiliency, scalability, availability, performance, and fault tolerance) and how they manifest in production behavior and incident patterns
