About The Position

Mastercard is hiring a Platform Engineering Intern to join its Platform Architecture team in St. Louis, Missouri, for Summer 2027. The intern will gain hands-on experience with enterprise-scale platform architecture and critical payment infrastructure, including platforms supporting the Decision Management Program (DMP), which operates across Mastercard data centers and relies heavily on bare-metal server environments. The team designs platform architectures and creates detailed Visio diagrams for complex applications and infrastructure solutions. It collaborates with development, infrastructure, networking, security, and operations teams to help ensure applications run on scalable, resilient, highly available platforms. The internship offers exposure to infrastructure and data center design, application architecture and dependency mapping, architecture documentation, bare-metal and modern platform technologies, and real-world payment processing systems. The intern will work with a collaborative, globally distributed team and receive mentorship and professional development opportunities.
