About The Position

BridgePhase is seeking a well-rounded engineer to join their DevSecOps and Cloud Infrastructure team supporting the U.S. Air Force Unified Platform Software Factory. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-native platforms and infrastructure on AWS, utilizing Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code principles. The position also requires creating clear documentation and materials to bridge the gap between technical systems and end-users. Ideal candidates are passionate about building automated platforms that enable efficient application deployment and management, balancing technical expertise with business needs.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or technical degree or industry experience equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AWS services and architecture best practices.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, preferably Amazon EKS.
  • Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and Podman
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and practices, particularly GitLab
  • Scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and implementation in cloud environments.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
  • Familiarity with GitOps principles and tools like ArgoCD or Flux.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
  • Experience with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio) is beneficial.
  • Proficient technical writing skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
  • Experience creating technical documentation, visual aids, diagrams, and instructional design
  • Desire to work in a ‘badgeless” collaborative team environment consisting of Government clients, other Contractors, and Stakeholders
  • Ideal candidate would be local to San Antonio as you will be on site as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cloud-native architectures on AWS
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and TerraGrunt.
  • Build and optimize Kubernetes clusters on Amazon EKS, including networking, storage, and security configurations.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab
  • Design and implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and AWS CloudWatch.
  • Develop and maintain Helm charts for application deployments on Kubernetes.
  • Implement security best practices and compliance measures across the platform.
  • Automate operational tasks and create self-service tools for development teams.
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve application deployment processes and platform usability.
  • Continuously evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance the platform's capabilities.
  • Implement and maintain security controls in accordance with DoW standards such as NIST SP 800-53, DISA STIGs, and the DoW Enterprise DevSecOps Reference Design
  • Maintain and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure and cloud-based resources
  • Integrate DevSecOps tools and services to enable automated pipelines that support customer applications throughout their SDLC.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams and contribute to the development of DevSecOps strategies and roadmaps.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for the platform, including user guides, API documentation, and best practices
  • Create engaging and informative diagrams to illustrate system architecture and workflows
  • Design and produce instructional resources such as tutorials, videos, and interactive learning materials
  • Develop and deliver training sessions to help users effectively leverage the platform
