About The Position

Placer.ai is hiring a Platform Engineer to own the infrastructure behind internal AI tools used across the company. The role is part of the COO’s team and involves taking AI tools from prototype to production, helping shape how AI scales across the business, and working with internal teams to deliver secure, reliable, and accessible solutions. The position is fully remote.

Requirements

At least 7 years of experience in production, platform, SRE, or DevOps engineering.
Production experience with Kubernetes and a public cloud provider (GCP or AWS).
Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform or Pulumi.
Strong Python or Go experience.
Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs or AI services into real workflows.
Solid understanding of identity, access control, and secrets management, including SSO/OAuth.
Comfort working with non-technical internal customers.

Nice To Haves

Experience with MCP, agent frameworks, or LLM gateways and observability tools such as LiteLLM, Langfuse, or Helicone.
Experience integrating business systems such as Salesforce, Google Workspace, Slack, Gong, or Databricks.
Experience supporting non-engineering internal customers or working on a business-systems or internal-tools team.

Responsibilities

Own the infrastructure behind internal AI tools, from architecture through production.
Take AI tools from prototype to production, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and easy to use.
Build and maintain integrations between AI tools and company systems, including Salesforce, Google Workspace, Slack, and the data warehouse.
Run CI/CD, environments, and infrastructure as code for internal AI applications.
Set up access controls, data permissions, and audit logging.
Monitor uptime, adoption, and cost, and use the data to decide what to scale, fix, or retire.
Work with teams across the company to turn their needs into working tools.
Evaluate new AI tools and models and recommend which are worth adopting.
