About The Position

As a Platform Engineer II, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and maintenance of a modern Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solution within a hybrid-cloud environment. This environment, which includes servers, workstations, storage, networks, and custom hardware, serves as the backbone for product development and testing of a large-scale project contributing to a critical national asset. You will engage in hands-on engineering tasks, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure the successful implementation of IaC solutions. Your work will directly impact on the efficiency, scalability, and security of our infrastructure, enabling the delivery of innovative solutions to meet mission-critical needs.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of related work experience
  • Experience with Linux system administration, including RHEL (6.0+)
  • Experience with automation frameworks such as Ansible
  • Experience with cloud, containerization, and microservices technologies
  • Active and Current TS/SCI CI Poly security clearance is required Day 1. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or SAFe
  • Experience deploying and managing applications in Kubernetes environments
  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite, including Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket
  • Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and Artifactory
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, or Go
  • Experience with database systems such as Postgres and tools like SonarQube
  • General working knowledge of networks, storage, and virtualization technologies
  • Background in installing, configuring, and integrating COTS/FOSS products
  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification or ability to obtain

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Ansible and Terraform
  • Perform Linux system administration tasks, including configuration and management of RHEL (6.0+)
  • Integrate and maintain Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) products, including LDAP, Tenable, and Consul
  • Support the deployment, configuration, and management of cloud-based and containerized applications, including Kubernetes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and support Infrastructure/Platform as a Service solutions
  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure baseline control and compliance
  • Conduct occasional travel to customer sites for upgrades, implementation activities, and troubleshooting as necessary
