Platform Engineer 4

AdobeSan Jose, CA

About The Position

This role involves collaborating with multiple teams to build, deploy, and support large-scale containerized workload platforms in global private cloud datacenters and public cloud providers. The position requires delivering highly secure and efficient solutions within comprehensive compliance regulations, balancing operational requirements and business priorities. The engineer will integrate various technologies for monitoring, alerting, and reporting, aiming for tangible improvements in performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. Support will be provided to software development teams for onboarding and using container-based solutions, identifying requirements gaps, and recommending practical improvements. The role operates within an agile framework, balancing sprint-based work with daily operational needs. This is a senior-level position requiring extensive platform engineering efforts with little supervision, focusing on delivery, quality, operational readiness, and continuous advancement across multiple systems. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving complex problems spanning multiple systems and environments, delivering root-cause analysis and build suggestions. The engineer will lead architecture and build reviews for container platform capabilities, influencing decisions affecting reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability. Full-system builds for platform services, including compute, networking, storage, observability, deployment automation, security controls, and operational readiness, will be owned. The role serves as a technical leader for complex platform initiatives, leading cross-team build discussions and providing recommendations to senior collaborators. Participation in an on-call rotation is required. Partnership with third-party vendors to review options, propose solutions, and improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency is also a key aspect of the role.
