Platform Deployment Engineer We have an opportunity for a Platform Deployment Engineer to join our Professional Services team in our Centre of Excellence in Warsaw, Poland, reporting to the Professional Services leadership team. In this highly technical and customer-facing role, you will help ensure customers achieve rapid time-to-value from their Kentik investment by leading onboarding, deployment, and adoption activities. You will work closely with customers to guide them through implementation and help them achieve their first desired outcome with the Kentik platform. Success in this role requires close collaboration with Sales, Customer Success, Support, Product Management, and Engineering teams to ensure customers receive a seamless experience from deployment through adoption. You are the ideal candidate if you have a strong background in networking, observability, cloud technologies, and software implementation, with a passion for solving complex technical challenges and delivering exceptional customer outcomes.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role focused on software implementation, onboarding, professional services, or solution delivery
Strong experience with networking protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, BGP, MPLS, IS-IS, OSPF, DNS, and HTTP
Experience working with network observability and monitoring technologies including NetFlow, sFlow, J-Flow, IPFIX, and SNMP
Hands-on experience administering Linux or UNIX systems
Experience working with networking platforms from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or similar
Scripting and automation experience using Python, Bash, or similar technologies
Experience working with APIs and REST-based integrations
Knowledge of network security technologies and concepts including DDoS mitigation, firewalls, segmentation, and RPKI
Experience troubleshooting packet captures using tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump
Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to improve efficiency, problem solving, communication, automation, and customer outcomes while applying critical thinking and validating outputs
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Ability to travel up to 20%

Experience with DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (DDI)
Experience with CDN architectures including Anycast, OTT, and GSLB
Experience with synthetic monitoring and network performance testing
Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
Previous experience within networking, SaaS, observability, cloud, or cybersecurity environments

Responsibilities

Lead technical onboarding and deployment engagements for new Kentik customers
Configure and implement the Kentik platform, including telemetry integrations, Private Agent deployment, testing, and initial platform setup
Partner with customers to understand their environment and guide them toward successful adoption and measurable business outcomes
Collaborate with Sales Engineers, Account Managers, Customer Success Managers, and Support teams to ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales to post-sales delivery
Troubleshoot implementation issues and provide technical guidance throughout onboarding projects
Identify deployment risks, technical challenges, and product gaps, escalating where appropriate
Develop and maintain implementation documentation, deployment best practices, and technical knowledge assets
Leverage AI-powered tools and automation to improve deployment efficiency, accelerate troubleshooting, enhance customer outcomes, and streamline operational processes while maintaining sound professional judgment
Meet utilization and customer satisfaction objectives while continuously identifying opportunities to add value for customers
