About The Position

This role involves leading the data management agenda for one of Europe's largest mortgage data estates. The Platform Data Lead will play a pivotal role in transforming how data is governed, managed, and utilized to unlock business value for customers. Sitting within the Homes Platform, the role operates at the intersection of technology, data, and the mortgage business, providing clear leadership for platform data. The individual will act as the key point of connection between the Homes Platform, central data teams, and senior business partners, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards while shaping solutions that benefit the business. The role requires setting and owning a clear, actionable data strategy for the Homes Platform, building understanding and buy-in across technology and business leaders. The Platform Data Lead will be a visible leader, representing Homes in central data forums and influencing the shape and adoption of enterprise data capabilities. Responsibilities include staying on top of data issues and risks across the platform, providing clarity, maintaining resolution plans, and driving issues to closure. The role also involves leading the Data Side of Change activity, ensuring data impacts are identified early and quality is designed in before changes are implemented. A key aspect of the role is to articulate the platform's data journey, improvements, and areas needing focus through compelling data stories.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience leading data management and data utilisation practices within a large, complex organisation.
  • Experience bridging data, technology and business, translating data concepts into outcomes that matter to senior stakeholders.
  • Exposure to enterprise data governance frameworks, including compliance with central standards and regulatory expectations.
  • Proven experience prioritising data initiatives, managing risks and dependencies, and driving delivery across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with large, complex financial services or mortgage data estates.
  • Experience contributing to or leading data transformation programmes, including modern data platforms and cloud‑based data solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data management capabilities.
  • A demonstrated passion for improving data literacy and capability across teams, not just delivering data solutions.
