About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Automation Advisor to support and enhance a large-scale enterprise RHEL lifecycle management platform responsible for automated operating system upgrades using Red Hat LEAPP and Ansible Automation Platform (AAP). This role combines Linux engineering, automation development, troubleshooting, and application development to ensure successful execution of thousands of automated RHEL upgrades while continuously improving the self-service upgrade experience. You will showcase your expertise in Linux internals, operating system upgrade methodologies, infrastructure automation, software development, and troubleshooting complex enterprise-scale automation workflows.

Requirements

4-7 years of experience in software development in an enterprise environment.
4-7 years administering and engineering Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
5+ years of experience in Ansible Automation Platform.
5+ years of experience supporting large-scale enterprise infrastructure programs.
3+ years of experience building: REST APIs, Web services, Enterprise integrations, Teams bots and notification services.
3+ years of experience utilizing Power Platform & Power Automate.
6+ months of direct experience with our internal Fiserv systems
Bachelor’s degree in IT or 6-10 years of an equivalent combination of educational background, related experience, and/or military experience

Nice To Haves

Experience in the financial services industry.
Master’s degree in MIS/IT or related field.

Responsibilities

Execute and support automated RHEL in-place upgrades utilizing LEAPP and Ansible Automation Platform through software development, workflow automation and user-facing integrations.
Maintain expert-level knowledge of RHEL versions, lifecycle management, package management, system services, and Linux operating system architecture.
Develop enhancements to existing LEAPP automation workflows to improve reliability, scalability, and upgrade success rates.
Collaborate with Linux Engineering, Application Owners, Automation Teams, and Infrastructure Operations.
Troubleshoot complex Ansible playbooks, roles, workflow templates, inventories, and automation pipelines.
Design and develop self-service capabilities for upgrade scheduling and execution.
Build and maintain Microsoft Teams integrations, bots, notifications, approval workflows, and status dashboards.
Develop automated communication capabilities that notify server owners of upgrade status, success, failure, and required actions.
Create APIs, reporting capabilities, and workflow integrations with enterprise platforms including ServiceNow and operational tooling.
Enhance user experience through automation portals, alerting mechanisms, and operational dashboards.
Serve as Tier-3 escalation support for complex LEAPP upgrade failures.
