About The Position

Booz Allen is seeking an experienced Platform and Data Engineer to help clients organize structured and unstructured data and develop technology solutions for mission-driven projects. The role involves deploying and developing data pipelines and platforms that make disparate data meaningful, and managing the assessment, design, construction, and maintenance of scalable platforms. The engineer will work with a multidisciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. Working closely with clients, the engineer will understand their questions and needs, examine data-rich environments, and build analytics systems that turn disparate data into useful information for informed decisions. The position includes developing data-engineering back ends and interactive front ends, and working alongside teammates in classified environments. The role is based in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and is not remote.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in software development, data engineering, or data science delivering enterprise-scale solutions with measurable business impact.
At least 2 years of experience using Python for data work and leveraging standard libraries and technologies such as TypeScript, JavaScript, NumPy, pandas, matplotlib, and PySpark.
At least 2 years of experience breaking down complex problems into technical solutions based on customer requirements.
At least 1 year of experience building visualization front ends, such as analytics dashboards or interactive GUI applications and web apps.
At least 1 year of experience communicating technical solutions to non-technical customers and stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Experience adhering to and championing SDLC best practices, including requirements management, testing, change control, and release processes.
Knowledge of DoW enterprise platforms such as War Data Platform, ADVANA, Palantir Foundry, Maven Smart Systems, or Microsoft Power Platform.
Ability to manage tasks and projects independently with minimal guidance and direction.
Secret clearance.
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering.

Nice To Haves

Experience with distributed data and computing tools such as Databricks.
Experience with generative AI techniques, including LLMs.
Experience with React, TypeScript, and Angular frameworks.
Experience writing production-level code for maximal efficiency, speed, and reliability.
Experience working with high-ranking military personnel.
