About The Position

Isola is hiring a Plate Refinishing Operator at its Chandler, Arizona location. The operator uses the TimeSaver plate refinishing machine to prepare plates to the surface quality required for the press cycle and operates and maintains the connected exhaust unit. The schedule is 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday, plus every other Wednesday. Overtime extended shifts and weekend work are required. Compensation is $22 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• At least six months of experience in a manufacturing, production, or similar industrial environment.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow work instructions, communicate safety information, and complete job-related documentation.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 12 hours per shift, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience operating a forklift or other powered industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the refinishing machine and dust collector, including startup, shutdown, belt changes, and gauge adjustments based on plate thickness.
• Retrieve stainless steel plates requiring refinishing from the automated plate farm.
• Identify plates that do not meet Isola's quality standards and determine the refinishing course of action based on the plate's incoming quality.
• Measure plate thickness using a micrometer and adjust the refinishing machine gap setting to accommodate the plate.
• Clean the refinishing machine as required.
• Follow engineering direction on the plate refinishing schedule.
• Operate and maintain the exhaust unit connected to the plate refinisher.
