Plate Area Team Member - Porter Corp
About The Position
The Plate Area Team Member is responsible for ensuring the quality of products before final shipment. This role involves continuous improvement to support department and company goals, and actively participating in team building. The team member will operate machinery for cutting and punching plates, aligning workpieces, and clamping them to the machine table. Providing feedback to the team, other departments, and supervisors is a key aspect of this role, as is promoting a positive work environment and adhering to all Porter Corp. procedures and policies. Safety, efficiency, and customer focus are paramount. This position requires basic knowledge of machine operation methods to ensure product quality, a high school diploma or equivalent, and basic computer skills. Familiarity with EPICOR ERP or similar systems is demonstrated. The ability to read blueprints and measuring tools, strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and self-motivation are essential. The role also emphasizes timely work completion, compliance with policies, minimizing lost time, and contributing to scheduling systems for efficient customer order fulfillment.
Requirements
- Knowledge of basic machine operation methods to ensure a quality product is delivered to all customers
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills
- Demonstrated proficiency using EPICOR ERP or similar systems
- Able to read blue prints
- Able to read measuring tools
- Very good interpersonal skills
- Must be open-minded to new ideas and concepts
- Possesses very good problem-solving skills
- Must be self-motivated and results oriented
- Timeliness of work completion
- Compliance and execution with company policies
- Limit lost time
- Development and participation in scheduling systems that provide a smooth interface between disciplines
- Reduction in lead time to the customer from order to delivery
