About The Position

The Plastics Specialist role is responsible for operating manufacturing equipment, following Standard Operating Procedures, and maintaining Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost standards. This position requires the ability to perform varying assignments daily and obtain certification on various tasks within six weeks of hiring. The role involves operating complex manufacturing equipment, performing quality checks, completing necessary computer transactions or paperwork, and training new associates. Excellent attendance and the ability to work overtime are required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and/or GED required.
  • Prior experience with computerized data collection systems.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to operate and be certified on a variety of tasks.
  • Ability to perform varying assignments daily.
  • Ability to successfully complete training and operate PIT’s.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to become certified in multiple focus factory areas.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and be certified on a variety of tasks, including operating manufacturing equipment, following established Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintain Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost standards.
  • Perform varying assignments daily.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the organization by leading by example and encouraging others to prioritize safety.
  • Promptly report any safety incidents or near-misses to the appropriate personnel and contribute to the investigation process.
  • Participate in safety-related programs and initiatives, including the safety committee, Risk Assessments, Exposure Hunts, department inspections, and change management activities.
  • Obtain certification in all PVS level 1 (Plastics Specialist and/or FNL) Training Checklist items within six weeks of hiring.
  • Be flexible and present the ability to become certified in multiple focus factory areas.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Operate complex manufacturing equipment following established procedures and Control Plans.
  • Read and interpret the Discrete Job Routing Sheet and Repetitive(s).
  • Perform quality checks as documented.
  • Complete necessary computer transactions or paperwork.
  • Notify appropriate Personnel of any incidents or situations that would trigger implementation of the contingency plan.
  • Maintain established production standards.
  • Be accountable for personal goals and departmental goals.
  • Successfully complete training and operate PIT’s.
  • Train new associates in essential job functions.
  • Work well with others in a team environment.
  • Maintain excellent attendance.
  • Work overtime as requested or required, including extended shifts and weekends.
  • Maintain full-time presence.
