About The Position

The Plastics Molding Technician operates and performs routine maintenance on blow molding equipment, producing PET bottles that supply multiple Premium Waters, Inc. plants at minimal cost. The role includes monitoring equipment and product quality, making adjustments, performing inspections and preventative maintenance, and moving palletized bottles with a forklift. The position may work with little supervision and requires 12-hour shifts. Employees working on the production floor must comply with GMP regulations, wear required PPE, follow standard operating procedures, and meet food safety and quality requirements under the SQF System.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Computer experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
• Forklift certification; certification must be completed within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including frequent lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Minimum of two years of work-related experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate blow mold machinery and monitor production through observation and routine inspections to ensure high-quality product.
• Perform basic equipment cleaning and preventative maintenance.
• Detect jams or malfunctions and make necessary adjustments.
• Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimensional defects using precision measuring instruments.
• Set up and operate blow molding machines to mold PET bottles.
• Install dies on machines or presses and coat them with parting agents according to work-order specifications.
• Use a forklift to store palletized bottles in the warehouse for transport.
• Listen for signs of equipment problems, such as dull cutting tools or excessive vibration, and adjust machines accordingly.
• Follow and help enforce plant GMP regulations, including required PPE rules.
• Follow standard operating procedures, including quality checks, and meet food safety and quality objectives and SQF System requirements.
• Perform related work assigned by the Manager.
