About The Position

Under the general supervision of the field maintenance supervisor repairs small and large holes in walls and ceilings...Prepares areas so they are ready to be painted. Clean area following completion. All activities must support the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh (“HACP” or “Authority”) mission, strategic goals and objectives. The position duties and responsibilities listed below describe the general nature and scope of work. Other responsibilities, duties and skills may be required and assigned, as needed.

Requirements

  • Journeyman plasterer with the completion of a four-year apprenticeship program or the equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and be insurable under the Authority’s plan.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and use of a vehicle during work hours.
  • Knowledge of plastering and drywall processes and proper handling of materials.
  • The employee should have basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Must have the ability to learn other computer software programs as required by assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assess damage area and determine the appropriate materials needed.
  • Knowledge of plastering and drywall processes and proper handling of materials used in making plasters.
  • Knowledge of all safety rules and practices pertaining to the trade.
  • Ability to read and apply blue prints/schematics and specifications.
  • Complete work orders and other required paperwork in accordance with HACP standards.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
