About The Position

This position involves performing a variety of duties to plan, set up, and spray parts to meet production requirements. The role requires masking and/or grit blasting parts to prepare for coating, and using judgment to determine proper flow and speed of spray for the best results and compliance with all specifications. The Plasma Sprayer will interpret work orders, engine manuals, and blueprints to determine the type and sequence of operations required. Additionally, the role involves working with Engineering to develop plasma spray programs, determine new methods, develop parameters, and select material types for new or modified products, as well as assisting with new tooling ideas. Ensuring the use of proper fixtures and tools, and maintaining adequate inventory levels of material to meet production goals are also key responsibilities. Materials and tooling will be requisitioned as required.

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience plasma spraying
• Aerospace environment preferred
• Knowledge/Practical use and programming abilities of Robotic Plasma Gun (Sulzer Metco Multi Coat Sprayer System and ABB 2400 Series Robot)
• Good mathematical skills
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documents
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to multitask
• Good communications skills
• Good attitude and a willingness to learn a new trade or skill

Responsibilities
