About The Position

CANFAB Management LLC., a VMC Group company, is seeking a Plasma Operator to support the production team with new product introduction, plan layout, sheet metal operations, and machine operation to meet business demands. The role produces a variety of parts to the dimensional specifications in mechanical engineering drawings. The company is seeking a long-term candidate eager to learn and take on new challenges. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Overtime and Saturdays may be required at the supervisor’s request.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–3 years of manufacturing experience with machine operation.
Metalworking fabrication experience.
Proficient at reading English.
Understand decimals.
Experience gauging sheet metal thickness.
Ability and willingness to work overtime when necessary.

Nice To Haves

Experience with CNC controls and machines.
Bilingual ability.
Forklift experience; in-house training is available.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate computer numerical controlled (CNC) machinery that automatically heats.
Monitor and operate a plasma cutting machine according to regulations.
Operate a burn table.
Lubricate machinery periodically.
Use power tools correctly.
Measure, check, and mark processed parts using two- and three-dimensional precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and measuring gauges.
Dispose of galvanized and jet coat material generated in the cutting process, remove scrap and slugs, sort materials according to regulations, and clean the workplace.
Mark parts to identify part numbers.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
