Entry Level Plasma Center Technician

About The Position

This part-time role supports plasma center operations by screening plasma donors and performing phlebotomy. The technician provides customer service while maintaining donor and team safety, collects donor information and vital signs, and helps ensure accurate records and quality processes. Most shifts last 4 to 6 hours per day, at least 3 days per week. Shift days and times are confirmed during the interview process, and team members are informed in advance of schedule changes. The position includes a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and involves prolonged glove wear due to potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift.
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above the shoulders and below the knees.
Ability to lift up to 5 pounds, occasionally lift materials up to 32 pounds, and rarely lift up to 50 pounds.
Fine motor coordination and depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance.
Prolonged glove wear for 90% of work tasks because of potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1).

Responsibilities

Answer phones and greet and assist donors while ensuring donor and team safety.
Screen new and repeat donors and take and record vital signs and finger stick results.
Use the Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain accurate records, and coordinate donor compensation.
Identify opportunities for operational improvement and initiate changes to center processes using company-approved procedures.
Perform phlebotomy to support plasma center operations.
