Requirements

High school diploma or GED and Journeyman Certification or equivalent experience
Class "D" or higher South Carolina Physical/Chemical Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification
One (1) or more years of actual operating experience as an operator of a physical/chemical wastewater treatment facility
Working knowledge of metal working industry wastewater treatment equipment and operations.

Responsibilities

Contribute to planning of maintenance schedules and execute respective maintenance assignments.
Analyze technical issues, complete repairs and work orders with reference to electrical systems.
Execute ramp up, setup and start procedures in order to prepare machines and equipment for operations.
Contribute to installation projects on site, and support accountable Industrial Engineers.
Support maintenance of technical documentations for processes and equipment.
Operate and maintain Wastewater Treatment Plant equipment.
Repair pumps and piping as required.
Transfer waste oil into bulk storage tank from drums, triple-rinse drums. Process waste oil/water separator.
Identify, consolidate and coordinate disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams.
Coordinate sampling of wastewater effluent and waste streams.
Maintain various activity logs.
Check and maintain cooling towers water quality and chemical feed system.
Check and maintain reverse osmosis water filtration system.
Inspect all dikes, tanks and possible leakage sites weekly.
Inspect and maintain spill kits.
Record water meter and flow meter readings daily.
Maintain acceptable housekeeping standards.
