Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and Journeyman Certification or equivalent experience
  • Class "D" or higher South Carolina Physical/Chemical Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification
  • One (1) or more years of actual operating experience as an operator of a physical/chemical wastewater treatment facility
  • Working knowledge of metal working industry wastewater treatment equipment and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to planning of maintenance schedules and execute respective maintenance assignments.
  • Analyze technical issues, complete repairs and work orders with reference to electrical systems.
  • Execute ramp up, setup and start procedures in order to prepare machines and equipment for operations.
  • Contribute to installation projects on site, and support accountable Industrial Engineers.
  • Support maintenance of technical documentations for processes and equipment.
  • Operate and maintain Wastewater Treatment Plant equipment.
  • Repair pumps and piping as required.
  • Transfer waste oil into bulk storage tank from drums, triple-rinse drums. Process waste oil/water separator.
  • Identify, consolidate and coordinate disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams.
  • Coordinate sampling of wastewater effluent and waste streams.
  • Maintain various activity logs.
  • Check and maintain cooling towers water quality and chemical feed system.
  • Check and maintain reverse osmosis water filtration system.
  • Inspect all dikes, tanks and possible leakage sites weekly.
  • Inspect and maintain spill kits.
  • Record water meter and flow meter readings daily.
  • Maintain acceptable housekeeping standards.
