This role involves operating high-speed making, packing, and other production-related equipment, or serving as a refinery or deodorizer technician in the process department. The position requires performing necessary physical activities for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment, including climbing stairs and ladders, standing and moving around on platforms, equipment, and concrete floors, and twisting or bending at the knees and back. It also involves lifting objects up to 50 pounds, standing and walking at least 70% of the time, and using basic hand and power tools. The technician will troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on basic equipment components, develop and analyze data using basic math and statistics, and operate a computer for data input, review, and email communication. Safety is a top priority, requiring the use of personal protective equipment, adherence to safe practices, understanding alarms and signals, and participating in safety audits. Maintaining a clean work area, utilizing Good Manufacturing Practices, following quality specifications, and performing quality inspections are also key. Accurate record-keeping, understanding machine component terminology, maintaining good attendance, and comprehending technical materials are essential. The role involves working rotating or straight shifts of 8 or 12 hours, 5 to 7 days per week, and requires strong teamwork, leadership, conflict resolution, problem-solving, communication, time management, goal setting, priority setting, and process improvement skills.
