About The Position

The Plant Supervisor II supervises the safe and efficient handling and processing of regulated medical waste. The role ensures the plant consistently meets regulatory and safety compliance measures and operates productively and profitably. The supervisor leads 10 production employees and works the second shift, Monday through Friday, with Saturdays as needed, from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. or until work is completed. This is a safety-sensitive role requiring strict compliance with safety rules and protocols. Candidates may be subject to drug and alcohol testing as an ongoing employment requirement. The position operates in a combination of office and plant or field environments and routinely uses standard office equipment. Requirements

Accredited high school diploma or GED.
Three years of related experience.
One year of experience managing staff, preferably in a plant or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Select, train, and develop a safe, effective, and efficient staff.
Ensure the plant meets regulatory and safety compliance measures and operates in a productive and profitable manner.
Maintain overall plant cost control.
Improve productivity standards and worker safety performance across all phases of operations.
Interface proactively with personnel to achieve business goals.
Maintain a high level of internal or external customer satisfaction.
Initiate actions to ensure timely resolution of identified hazards, unsafe conditions, or unsafe practices.
Train new plant personnel and conduct monthly training for current plant personnel.
Conduct periodic facility audits and review applicable regulatory paperwork, including biological testing and wastewater testing.
Provide equipment maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary.
Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities.
