Your Role at Baxter This is where my hands make life-sustaining products Perform a range of cleaning operations to generally maintain the condition of plant and office buildings, outdoor areas, machines and equipment. Make pick-ups at various locations, use shovels, hand or power trucks to handle material and load into proper containers.

Requirements

  • Must have valid Driver’s License and pass tow motor physical.
  • High School Diploma or (GED) General Education Degree

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and package special and hazardous waste (paint filters, etc.) as specified by the State. Handling of special and hazardous waste will be under the direction of the Hazardous Waste Administrator.
  • Carry out instructions and established procedures.
  • Prepare various surfaces for finishing by sweeping, washing, scraping, stripping, and use of necessary equipment.
  • Replace light bulbs in offices and factory areas.
  • Collect recyclable paper (computer paper, etc.) from office areas.
  • Maintain coolant levels, concentrations and cleaning as directed by Coolant Supplier.
  • Remove chips and sludge from machines and dispose of as directed.
  • Assist in the clean-up of chemical spills.
  • Maintain cleaning, auxiliary equipment and various work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Give proper care to tools and equipment used.
  • Responsible for both quality and quantity of work:
  • Participate in team activities and problem solving sessions as required.
  • Communicate problems and/or solutions to appropriate team member.
  • Must follow processes and procedures as written.
  • As needed, document and/or chart production data to aid in problem identification, quality feedback and production scheduling.
  • Troubleshoot problems when necessary.
  • Train, instruct and assist other operators in their duties as required to ensure a quality product and smooth flow.
  • Evaluate defective material and tooling, faulty operations, questionable conditions and potential work stoppages.
  • Advise and recommend alternatives to appropriate team member. (May require the use of computer and telecommunication device).
  • Ensure that work area and equipment are maintained in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations.
