Plant Operator
About The Position
Airgas is hiring a Plant Operator in Charleston, South Carolina, at its filling industrial location. The role supports safe and efficient operation of the production facility, including cylinder filling, to help maintain quality standards and a steady supply of industrial gases. The operator cares for equipment such as compressors, pumps, filling stations, and forklifts; contributes to routine inspections and maintenance; safely handles cylinder flow and transport; and keeps records of equipment maintenance, cylinder tracking, and production activities. The position emphasizes adherence to safety protocols and collaboration in team meetings and safety initiatives. Responsibilities
- Operate and care for production facility equipment, including compressors, pumps, filling stations, and forklifts.
- Contribute to routine equipment inspections and maintenance, and promptly communicate identified needs.
- Safely support the movement, filling, and quality checking of cylinders in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, cylinder tracking, and production activities.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures.
- Participate in team meetings and safety initiatives.
