About The Position

The Plant Operator on the portable crew safely and efficiently operates a crushing plant to meet production goals. The role involves manual labor and equipment operation at concrete-crushing sites, along with routine plant inspections, maintenance support, production reporting, and participation in safety activities. Work takes place in varying weather conditions and may involve extended standing, climbing, lifting, and exposure to dust and loud noise. Required personal protective equipment must be worn.

Requirements

• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to stand for extended periods at conveyor belt operations.
• Ability to regularly climb to heights of 40 feet.
• Ability to regularly lift, carry, and/or pull 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in dusty and loud environments.
• Ability to wear required safety equipment, including a hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, steel-toed boots, ear plugs, respirator, gloves, and similar items as required.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate the crushing plant to meet budgeted production goals.
• Perform lifting, pulling, carrying, and other manual labor tasks to operate equipment designed to crush concrete at the site.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and report equipment operation or safety problems to the Production Lead/Foreman.
• Perform daily routine maintenance and inspections, and keep safety and maintenance logs accurate and up to date.
• Prepare reports on the previous business day’s plant production data and downtime.
• Participate in scheduled safety meetings.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
• Recommend operational changes to the Production Lead/Foreman to improve productivity.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
