About The Position

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc., makers of Yellawood brand Pressure Treated Pine, is seeking a Plant Manager. This individual will be responsible for directing production and distribution operations for the branch plant, including managing production personnel, production performance, and production costs. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and a full benefits package. Responsibilities

  • Coordinates receiving, warehousing, production, distribution, and shipping of product in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by the Regional Operations Manager.
  • Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.
  • Reviews production costs and product quality and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of facility.
  • Ensures employee safety and compliance with governing regulatory agencies including OSHA and EPA.
  • Oversees overall maintenance and housekeeping of plant facilities and equipment.
  • Maintains positive employee relations and compliance with employment policies and regulations.
  • Manages subordinate shift supervisors who supervise hourly production employees.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, scheduling, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
