Receiving also offers the state’s leading 24/7 hyperbaric oxygen program, Metro Detroit’s first certified primary stroke center, and the nationally recognized and accredited DMC Rosa Parks Geriatric Center of Excellence.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, follow written and oral instructions and speak English.
  • Possess a certificate in Pneumatics and Hydraulics or in Climate Control Technology or combination of equivalent experience.
  • Possess an Associate’s Degree in Electronics.
  • Depending on level and area of specialty, one to two years experience in either industrial repair work, welding, working with hospital equipment, welding equipment, or refrigeration or cooling systems repair.
  • May also require five to eight years motor control experience, five years pneumatic and DDC controls experience and three years computer programming experience, depending on area of specialty.

Responsibilities

  • Performing a variety of maintenance, installation, and repair duties.
  • Maintaining automated control systems including heating and cooling, pneumatic tube systems, electronic and mechanical systems, fire alarm systems, and refrigeration systems.
  • Generating computer programs and graphics to maximize energy efficiency, remotely control equipment, and monitor and respond to observed fluctuations at remote sensor locations.
  • Performing welding as needed on various equipment and systems.
  • Coordinating the work of maintenance engineers performing major repairs of equipment in various systems, such as heating, cooling, refrigeration, etc.
