About The Position

This role involves assisting the Plant Operations Director in maintaining all areas of the community, servicing equipment and tools, and responding to repair and maintenance requests. The position also focuses on ensuring the safety of employees, guests, and residents by addressing potential environmental hazards and emergencies.

Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction, refinishing, painting, plumbing, floor/carpet care, refurbishing required.
  • Must have at least two (2) years of experience in apartment or other multiple unit maintenance with supervisory experience.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move items more than 50 pounds.
  • Position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day, and the use of a ladder is required.
  • Job functions require both indoor and outdoor work, including in periods of inclement weather.
  • Must be criminally cleared.
  • Be in good health and physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks.
  • Good physical health shall be verified by a health screening performed by a physician not more than six (6) months prior to or seven (7) days following employment.
  • Must test free from pulmonary tuberculosis at time of health screening.
  • Must have a clean driving record as per the insured’s policy.
  • Must have a working knowledge of current OSHA regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • A certification and experience in HVAC is highly recommended.
  • Landscaping experience a plus.
  • Experience in senior housing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Plant Operations Director in maintaining all areas of the community.
  • Service equipment and tools.
  • Rapidly respond to repair and maintenance requests and properly document their progress and completion.
  • Keep the safety of employees, guests, and residents at top of mind, whether regarding potential environmental hazards or in relation to emergencies.
