About The Position

Arrow Senior Living is seeking a Plant Operations Assistant to join our team at Vitalia Active Adult Community in Solon, Ohio. This full-time position plays a crucial role in maintaining the community's facilities, equipment, and tools, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents, employees, and guests. The role involves assisting the Plant Operations Director with various maintenance tasks, responding to repair requests, and upholding safety standards.

Requirements

Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
Thorough knowledge of construction, refinishing, painting, plumbing, floor/carpet care, and refurbishing required.
Must have at least two (2) years of experience in apartment or other multiple unit maintenance with supervisory experience.
Possess clear verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move items more than 50 pounds.
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
Use of a ladder is required.
Job functions require both indoor and outdoor work, including in periods of inclement weather.
Must be criminally cleared.
Be in good health and physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks.
Good physical health shall be verified by a health screening performed by a physician not more than six (6) months prior to or seven (7) days following employment.
Must test free from pulmonary tuberculosis at time of health screening.
Must have a clean driving record as per the insured’s policy.
Must have a working knowledge of current OSHA regulations.

Nice To Haves

Certification and experience in HVAC are highly recommended.
Landscaping experience is a plus.
Experience in senior housing is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the Plant Operations Director in maintaining all areas of the community.
Service equipment and tools.
Rapidly respond to repair and maintenance requests.
Properly document the progress and completion of maintenance and repair requests.
Keep the safety of employees, guests, and residents at top of mind, addressing potential environmental hazards and emergency situations.
