Plant Modeling and Simulation Engineer

Stellantis•Auburn Hills, MI

About The Position

Develops, validates, and maintains high-quality plant models supporting XIL, virtual validation, and system integration. The role builds scalable, reusable models across multiple vehicle domains and ensures alignment with system-level requirements and verification workflows. The engineer collaborates with system design, architecture, controls, and testing organizations to enable virtual development and validation using model-based techniques. The position offers deep technical work in modeling and simulation, contributions to system-level development and validation, and an opportunity to build toward technical leadership or system architecture roles. The engineer develops and maintains 0D/1D plant models of physical systems such as propulsion, chassis, ADAS, and infotainment; matches model fidelity to development phases; validates and correlates models against requirements and test data; and supports model reduction and optimization. The role integrates models into XIL workflows, supports virtual testing and system verification, collaborates with controls and system engineers, and contributes to continuous integration pipelines. It also supports cross-domain integration and model reuse, follows modeling standards and quality processes, maintains documentation and configuration management, and contributes to improvements in fidelity, performance, scalability, simulation efficiency, tools, and processes.
