About The Position

A growing plastics manufacturer is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead operations at a high-volume injection molding facility. This role is responsible for overseeing daily plant performance, developing leadership teams, and driving operational results across safety, quality, productivity, and cost control. The ideal candidate has a strong background in plastic injection molding operations and experience managing multi-shift manufacturing environments. The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the facility, including production execution, workforce leadership, and operational improvement initiatives. This position leads a team of supervisors across multiple shifts while working closely with engineering, quality, and scheduling teams to ensure customer commitments are met.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Direct experience in plastic injection molding operations strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-shift manufacturing teams
  • Experience managing production metrics, scheduling, and workforce performance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with employees, leadership, and customers

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, business, or a related discipline preferred

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily operations across production, safety, quality, and efficiency initiatives.
  • Lead and develop shift supervisors and production leadership teams.
  • Monitor operational metrics including output, labor utilization, scrap, and overall plant performance.
  • Ensure production schedules and staffing plans support customer demand.
  • Identify and implement improvements that increase throughput and reduce operating costs.
  • Analyze production and labor performance data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage inventory levels and coordinate with scheduling and planning teams.
  • Coach supervisors and team leaders to strengthen leadership capability across shifts.
  • Oversee employee performance management including feedback, discipline, and development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements.
  • Support investigation and resolution of workplace incidents.
  • Lead structured problem-solving efforts using tools such as root cause analysis, 5 Whys, and corrective action methodologies.
  • Drive initiatives that improve operational stability and manufacturing efficiency.
