About The Position

This person will oversee all daily operation of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed, including developing new policies and procedures to maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity. This person must have a strong understanding of production machinery and is responsible for ensuring our company produces high quality parts for our customers on schedule.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in a production management role.
  • Experience managing production staff totaling at least 80 employees, including 5-10 direct reports.
  • Bilingual language skills in English and Spanish.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proficiency with computers, ERP software, and Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Familiarity of various manufacturing tools and machinery including but not limited to lathes, CNCs, automated equipment, and other mechanical machinery.
  • Ability to work well with others, be organized and detail oriented.
  • Strong team building, decision-making, problem-solving, and people management skills.
  • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles including budgeting, planning, resource allocation and human resources.
  • Basic understanding of HR rules and regulations and OSHA requirements.
  • Knowledge of lean, six-sigma, 5S or similar manufacturing methods.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to meet or exceed our customers’ expectations.
  • Increase production, machinery capacity, and flexibility while minimizing downtime and other unnecessary costs, including the cost of poor quality.
  • Coordinate resolutions for plant issues in a timely manner.
  • Implement strategies in alignment with company initiatives to provide a clear sense of direction for shop employees.
  • Provide training and guidance to workers to meet performance standards in a safe working environment.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all plant related activities.
  • Ensure materials, supplies, equipment, and proper PPE are readily available for workers to safely perform production processes.
  • Ensure manufacturing employees maintain clean and organized workstations.
  • Continually monitor and evaluate plant machinery for preventative maintenance, opportunities for improvements or upgrades, and effective use of assets.
  • Develop systems and processes to track and optimize productivity to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production targets are achieved.
  • Reporting of daily, weekly, and monthly production KPI’s.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Branch Manager.
