About The Position

We are looking for a Plant Supervisor to join our team at Recycling Services of Florida. As a Plant Supervisor, you will ensure the highest standards of Environmental Safety and operational excellence by effectively managing the day-to-day operations of the recycling facility and efficiently controlling costs on site. Daily reporting and meeting with the General Manager.

Requirements

  • The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the ability to lead and coach employees.
  • Direct/Indirect supervision of full-time employees, including Leads, Drivers, Equipment Operators, Maintenance Mechanics, Sorters, and Operational Support.

Nice To Haves

  • Class A CDL preferred.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, baler, sort line, and conveyor systems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures smooth operation of the site, including but not limited to: production, sorting, loading, unloading, inventory, and labor.
  • Minimizes handling and operational costs.
  • Continually works to reduce turnaround time for trucks in and out of the site.
  • Regularly proposes means of operational improvement.
  • Complies with OSHA and EPA regulations and ensures adherence to Safe work practices to encourage safe and efficient operations.
  • Assists in creating a positive team-oriented environment through employee development and motivation.
  • Ensures the cleanliness and maintenance of the equipment through inspections and preventive maintenance programs with supervisors/employees and the maintenance shop.
  • Overseeing personnel needs of the Site, including time and attendance, selecting, coaching, and training employees, and evaluating employees’ performance. Provides input to the GM on termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
  • Conducts and/or attends and contributes to daily safety/toolbox meetings.
  • Provides training and presentations as needed in a positive and professional manner.
  • Updates and submits required reports in a timely manner.
  • Assist with production as needed. Ability and skill in operating forklifts, skid steers, bucket front-end loaders, and yard trucks are a required.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, baler, sort line, and conveyor systems.
  • Effective communication skills a must.
  • Class A CDL preferred.
