About The Position

The Plant Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of the plastics molding facility. This role provides leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight to ensure alignment with corporate objectives related to safety, quality, cost, delivery, and continuous improvement. The Plant Manager leads cross-functional teams, develops talent, drives performance through metrics, and serves as the primary liaison between plant operations, corporate leadership, and key customers. They have a fundamental responsibility to ensure product safety and quality as it applies to all the duties listed below:

Requirements

  • Required: Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Operations, Business or equivalent experience.
  • Required: 7+ years’ manufacturing management experience
  • Proven plant leadership and team development experience
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting and cost management
  • Data-driven decision-making and KPI management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ERP/MRP system experience

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business or a related field.
  • Preferred: 5+ years’ experience managing a plastic process operation
  • Lean / Six Sigma certification
  • Project management experience
  • Capacity and production planning expertise
  • Strong technical understanding of plastics manufacturing processes

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all plant operations, including production, quality, maintenance, safety, and logistics.
  • Establish and implement policies, procedures, and operating standards to drive productivity, quality, cost control, and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, quality system, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators including safety metrics, quality, OEE, scrap, labor efficiency, and delivery performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or related methodologies.
  • Oversee plastics molding processes, tooling, process optimization, material utilization, and new product launches.
  • Develop, coach, and evaluate management and supervisory staff; establish succession planning.
  • Collaborate with engineering, finance, purchasing, HR, and sales to support plant and corporate objectives.
  • Prepare and manage the annual operating and capital budgets; ensure performance to budget.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure quality, delivery, and service expectations are met.
  • Provide timely communication and reporting to senior leadership, including weekly and monthly business reviews.
