About The Position

The Manufacturing Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the manufacturing plant and employees. Their duties include hiring and training manufacturing plant employees, reviewing production records to determine whether employees meet their performance expectations and coordinating with corporate management to enforce changes to plant budgets or safety procedures. Manufacturing Plant Manager will oversee production processes, ensure quality standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of manufacturing systems, and the ability to optimize plant performance through effective management of resources, personnel, and processes. The Plant Manager will be instrumental in implementing Lean manufacturing principles, managing supply chain activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality regulations. Decision making is based on the following sequence of priorities: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Value.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in production management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP systems, ERP platforms, and supply chain analytics.
  • Expertise in Lean manufacturing principles, process improvement techniques, and quality control standards.
  • Demonstrated ability in operations management including production planning, supply chain management, and plant management.
  • Mechanical knowledge or background preferred to understand equipment maintenance and process optimization.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
  • Extensive Microsoft Office knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the plant.
  • Lead and coordinate all manufacturing activities to meet production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
  • Experience with the implementation and maintaining of industry certifications such as API and ISO.
  • Experience with and understanding of manufacturing processes including Machining, Welding, Blast and Paint, Assembly and Testing.
  • Oversee production management systems including MRP, and ERP platforms to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Understanding of Lean Six Sigma practices in order to drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on process optimization, waste reduction, and operational excellence using Lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Manage supply chain operations including procurement, inventory control, and logistics to ensure seamless material flow.
  • Develop and implement production planning strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Monitor key performance indicators related to manufacturing efficiency, quality control, and safety compliance.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in process improvement projects and operational audits.
  • Manage plant budgets, staffing levels, and resource allocation effectively.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and high performance among staff.
