This is an exciting opportunity to lead our high-voltage bus business in Medway, MA. The Plant Manager provides full-site leadership and oversight from inside sales through field service, ensuring high-voltage gas-insulated bus systems are designed, manufactured and installed safely, within budget, and in compliance with customer requirements and applicable standards. Overall responsibility includes Inside Sales, Engineering, Project Management, Production Control, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Lean, Quality Assurance, Field Service, and EH&S functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field is a must
  • Minimum 5 years of site leadership experience, preferably managing an organization of approximately 100 employees
  • Ideally, 10+ years of manufacturing experience in high-voltage electrical equipment or engineered-to-order projects
  • Experience leading custom or project-based manufacturing with complex customer specifications and cross-functional execution
  • Proven success implementing Lean, strategy deployment, Kaizen, value stream management, and continuous improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-site operations across inside sales, engineering, project management, purchasing, production control, manufacturing, quality, field service, Lean, and EH&S
  • Ensure proposals, project budgets, Percent of Completion (POC) revenue, and margins are accurate and aligned with business commitments
  • Drive safe, efficient manufacturing operations that meet production, quality, delivery, cost, and cash objectives
  • Lead Lean transformation, strategy deployment, Kaizen activity, and waste elimination across manufacturing and business processes
  • Oversee field service activities to support proper installation of high-voltage gas-insulated bus ducts
  • Develop and manage profit plans, budgets, staffing levels, operating expenses, and capital investments
  • Establish, monitor, and improve performance against safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and customer service standards
  • Maintain plant facilities, equipment, and preventive maintenance programs to support safe and reliable operations
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, OSHA, and other safety regulations
  • Coach and hold functional and value stream leaders accountable for operational, financial, and customer commitments
  • Partner with planning, quality, Lean, EH&S, finance, HR, engineering, supply chain, sales, marketing, and project management to align priorities and deliver results
  • Work with nVent leadership to identify opportunities, execute action plans, and achieve enterprise goals and strategic objectives
