Bachelor's degree in related field or five years plant/general management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Exposure with managing union and non-union environments
Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures required.
Basic computer experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
The military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience.
Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication and converting fractions into decimals.
Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer and caliper accurately.

Responsibilities

Direct and manage all plant operations for production, employee safety, maintenance, quality, and shipping and receiving.
Coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure manufacturing objectives are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Develop, coordinate, and direct all efforts to promote safety throughout the organization.
Develop and control the budget through active planning and understanding of the plant P&L.
Implement cost-effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries.
Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses.
Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace or make adjustments when necessary.
Investigate and recommend new equipment or process improvements.
Provide leadership and training to accomplish company goals and objectives.
Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs.
Incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
Provide direction, development, and leadership to all supervision.
Serve as the onsite contact for government agencies, landlords, and various other vendors.
Actively participate with Regional Sales Management to develop and manage the Regional Operating Unit into a team-oriented environment.
Wear all required PPE while in the manufacturing facility.
Monitor the activities of all employees and provide feedback and discipline to promote a safe workplace.
Oversee the development and organization of all safety-related documentation.
Ensure that all required safety-related training is conducted.
Develop and implement employee programs to promote safe employee behavior.
Audit equipment and the shop floor for safety-related improvements.
Supervise all plant management and personnel.
