Job Summary The Plant Manager is responsible for overall manufacturing and logistics processes for the Nortek Oklahoma City, OK. The role of Plant Manager is to provide leadership of people, manufacturing, planning, continuous improvement, and logistics. The operational manager’s key challenges are to maintain production while improving the overall operations to enable growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience and/or bachelor’s degree.
  • Industry relevant production experience.
  • Tangible track record of improving organizational effectiveness and operations management.
  • Knowledge of business and management, HR, and project management principles and practices.
  • Must possess excellent computer skills (Microsoft applications (i.e. excel, word, PPT, etc).
  • Must have leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and possess a “can-do” with quality first attitude and take “ownership” over Logistics initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the safety of all employees in the plant and abiding by all legal and compliance requirements.
  • Planning for and executing production requirements to meet customer commitments through efficient utilization of production areas, staffing, and materials management.
  • Leading continuous improvement efforts for the plant to drive productivity, waste elimination, and cost reduction.
  • Lead local operational strategy to build plans for growth and execute projects and growth plans.
  • Building a high performing organization that focuses on building capability, accountability, and personal growth for all individuals enabling future advancement for individuals and resulting in strong engagement and retention.
  • Lead problem-solving with teams to ensure ongoing metrics for the Dyersburg facility
  • Establishing and controlling conditions of production in order to satisfy customer and quality specifications.
  • Participating actively in standardization, cost reduction, and finding out ERP system protocols.
  • Managing the purchasing, stock control, distribution, production-scheduling tasks
  • Maintaining proper employment levels through selecting, interviewing, and training of personnel.
