About The Position

Within the Group Division, Arrow Engineered Products designs and manufactures turnkey solutions for customers with needs in nuclear, chemical mixing, heat exchanger, and autoclave systems, including fuel storage and custom-designed pressure and non-pressure systems, all compliant with ASME, PED, ULC, and API certified design criteria.

Requirements

  • 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience with disciplinary action & employee relations
  • Reading of blueprints from CAD system, pulling up files within the system

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of visual manufacturing (MRP Software)
  • Candidate must be confident to run a shift and manage day-to-day operations, and be able to manage corrective actions
  • ASME, N299 Experience
  • Previous welding experience or experience in a welding fabrication environment

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and control production work, including the timely setup of equipment.
  • Communicate with other functions and/or departments to address issues such as inventory shortages, short lead times, or incomplete/inaccurate work instructions.
  • Ensure overall responsibility for quality, productivity, delivery performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Delegate work orders to optimize productivity and employee capabilities.
  • Staff the manufacturing function by preparing job descriptions, making hiring decisions, and deploying resources to meet production requirements.
  • Lead by providing clear direction on priorities and communicating performance expectations.
  • Oversee the training of employees in the use of equipment or production techniques.
  • Provide a safe work environment and promote safe work habits.
  • Monitor staffing levels, ensure proper labor complements, and adjust accordingly.
  • Supervise staff scheduling, including work assignments/rotations, employee training, and employee evaluations.
  • Manage vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignments, back-up for absent employees, shift rotations, and coordination of work activities with other departments.
  • Lead employee performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Assess hourly employee performance by defining expectations, measuring results, and providing feedback and coaching.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to On Time Delivery, Lean Manufacturing, Health & Safety, Employee Performance, Quality, and Overtime.
  • Ensure all quality standards are adhered to within the area of responsibility.
  • Promote a safe working environment by ensuring employees follow safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist staff in resolving complex operational problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with company policy and implement progressive discipline, with HR assistance.
  • Conduct interviews, employee performance appraisals, skills matrix assessments, and orientation procedures, coordinating with functional groups for a holistic view of performance.
  • Prepare production and other related reports.
  • Review and revise the Time & Attendance system daily (attendance, sick leave, and vacation).
  • Measure piece parts and weldment parts, both in process and as final assemblies.
  • Document measurements, material test reports, and other necessary documentation (e.g., Initial Sample Reports, First Article Inspection Reports).
