About The Position

The Plant Manager / Director of Assembly provides director-level leadership of the Butcher Power Products assembly facility and is accountable for the assembly and wiring of the company's Low Voltage Electrical Distribution Equipment. Setting direction, standards, and priorities across the assembly and wiring design functions — with department leaders leading day-to-day execution — the role partners closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain as supporting functions that provide process and build-to-print support, ISO 9001 quality assurance, warehouse management, and shipping logistics aligned to the production plan. The position is accountable for throughput, workmanship and build-to-print quality, safety, cost, and on-time delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing operations experience with 5+ years in leadership; direct assembly or electrical-build leadership required.
  • Background in Low Voltage Electrical Distribution Equipment or electromechanical build-to-print / engineer-to-order manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of assembly workmanship standards, production planning, and quality systems.
  • Proficiency with Lean/Six Sigma and ERP/MRP systems, with P&L or operating-budget ownership.
  • Proven ability to lead large, multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the assembly and wiring of Low Voltage Electrical Distribution Equipment, setting standards and priorities while department leaders lead point-to-point wiring, panel build, and final assembly.
  • Set operational direction across the assembly and wiring design functions and align the supporting manufacturing engineering, quality, and supply chain functions to meet production, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Direct production planning and capacity strategy so that schedules and labor plans deliver on-time throughput across the build cycle.
  • Enforce assembly workmanship and ISO 9001 quality standards, ensuring product is built to released drawings and partnering with the Quality Director to drive first-pass yield and resolve non-conformances.
  • Develop department leaders and overall workforce capability, including skills certification and succession planning, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Supply Chain to align incoming materials, warehouse management, and shipping logistics with the production plan and customer delivery commitments.
  • Champion a zero-incident safety culture and ensure the facility operates in full compliance with OSHA, environmental, and applicable industry standards.
  • Drive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce cycle time, rework, and cost while improving productivity and quality across assembly operations.
  • Own the assembly operating budget, managing labor, materials, and overhead to meet margin and productivity objectives.
  • Monitor and report on output, efficiency, scrap and rework, downtime, and on-time delivery KPIs to executive leadership.
