About The Position

Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. This role will lead all day-to-day plant operations to achieve safety, production, quality, and cost objectives. The Plant Manager will have full P&L accountability, overseeing budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing resources to maximize profitability, operational efficiency, and overall business performance. They will champion a strong safety culture through visible leadership, accountability, and continuous improvement initiatives, and optimize plant performance by managing production planning, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency. Additionally, the role involves developing and coaching team members to build engagement, collaboration, and operational excellence, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer needs, environmental compliance, and business goals are met.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to lead plant operations and drive results in a fast-paced production environment.

  • Effective problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills with a focus on achieving business objectives.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead aggregate, mining, quarry, sand and gravel, manufacturing, or other heavy industrial operations.
  • Strong knowledge of production management, equipment reliability, maintenance planning, and operational performance improvement.
  • Proven ability to promote a safety-first culture while ensuring compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing resources to achieve business objectives.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and team development skills with the ability to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related Engineering discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Five years of aggregates operations management experience.
  • Advanced understanding of geology, mining methods, and regulations.
  • Proven leadership skills managing multiple, diverse teams.
  • Entrepreneurial thinking and business opportunity identification.
