About The Position

Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems by performing the following duties. This role involves visually inspecting and testing machinery, listening for unusual sounds to detect malfunctions, and discussing machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines. The position also includes dismantling defective machines, installing new or repaired parts, and cleaning and lubricating machinery components. Scheduling and coordinating repairs in a timely manner to support production team timelines is crucial. Additionally, the role involves installing and repairing electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment. It also includes laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairing and replacing gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. The maintenance worker will also repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment and may be required to perform non-maintenance duties on a temporary basis.

Requirements

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
  • Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction.
  • Discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Schedules maintenance in a manner that will not hinder the production team from meeting their scheduled time lines.
  • Co-ordinates repairs in a timely manner to assist the production team in meeting their schedule time lines.
  • Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
