About The Position

The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining site reliability by performing high-quality inspections, troubleshooting basic preventative maintenance (PM) tasks, and executing routine maintenance with no supervision. This role includes replacing basic components and assisting in minimizing unplanned downtime through proactive maintenance efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including wearing appropriate PPE, and following MSHA/OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain a high level of situational awareness to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of yourself and others.
  • Report any safety concerns, incidents, or equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Follow a preventative maintenance schedule for equipment to avoid unexpected breakdowns, which might involve component changes, tear-downs, and rebuilds.
  • Inspecting and replacing key components that are crucial for maintaining efficient plant operations. Technicians must understand how replacing or servicing parts affects the overall performance and longevity of the equipment.
  • Troubleshooting the root cause of simple issues quickly and efficiently. Maintenance Technicians should be able to fix minor equipment issues immediately to avoid larger breakdowns and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Monitor equipment performance, such as crushers, screens, and conveyors, to ensure equipment is operating at full capacity.
  • Reviewing and updating equipment logs to identify patterns in maintenance needs and determine if any equipment is being overused or consistently breaking down, adjusting the operational schedule, or suggesting repairs before larger issues arise.
