About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role requires a versatile individual with proven abilities in both mechanical and electrical disciplines. The successful candidate will be a team player with demonstrated multi-tasking and multi-skilled technical abilities, capable of troubleshooting, performing preventive maintenance, completing work orders, contributing to projects, and executing general maintenance tasks within a demanding manufacturing environment. This position requires the ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision, while supporting and improving key metrics: Safety, Quality, Productivity, Delivery, and Continuous Improvement.

Requirements

  • Must have a H.S. diploma/GED or an educational equivalent and an appropriate mix of training, education and experience with progressive employment experience in Mechanical Maintenance.
  • Certificates of Skill (Welding, Rigging, Pumps, Pneumatics, Alignment, etc.) and 3+ years of work-related experience in a manufacturing environment. OR 5+ years of work-related experience if no certifications exist.
  • Skilled in using general shop equipment (Pneumatic valves, hydraulic systems, motors and control systems, and various sensing devices.).
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
  • Welding, fabricating & machining experience.
  • Ability to take direction from Engineering or Supervision.
  • Knowledge of Personal Computers.
  • Understanding of applicable codes and standards relative to the field (NEC).
  • Knowledgeable and competent in safety disciplines stipulated by OSHA.
  • Read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication is required.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills and abilities
  • Be willing to work overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job including but not limited to lifting (up to 50 lbs.), walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs and ladders.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work in a team-oriented environment with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all prescribed Health, Safety, and Environmental laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations during maintenance activities. Identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Complete all required safety and regulatory training in a timely manner.
  • Survey job sites to identify potential hazards and countermeasures before starting work.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical/equipment breakdowns.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, schematics, blueprints, service manuals, and work orders.
  • Disassemble and install new machines, condition monitoring sensors, and other equipment.
  • Install, assemble, and test machines and equipment.
  • Use a variety of tools to complete repairs, installations, adjustments, and part replacements.
  • Work from established procedures and/or verbal instructions.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance according to specified tasks and procedures. This includes replacing wear parts, equipment lubrication, and general inspections.
  • Regularly inspect machines for signs of malfunctions (visual and sound inspections).
  • Take and record measurements for machine condition trend analysis and accurately enter data into the CMMS.
  • Work effectively with other team members in a high-speed 24/7 environment.
  • Complete records of work performed in the CMMS system.
  • Interface positively and professionally with all levels of team members.
  • Maintain work areas in a neat and orderly condition according to Visual Management and 5S standards.
  • Escalate issues affecting key metrics: Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
  • Respond quickly to service calls with a sense of urgency to maximize equipment efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned due to business needs.
