Plant Maintenance Technician (CMMS & Preventive Maintenance) — Milwaukee, WI Keep production moving. That’s the mission. Aegis is seeking a skilled technician for our client’s Milwaukee, WI manufacturing facility—someone who can anticipate issues, maintain complex systems, and step in confidently when equipment goes down. Imagine this scenario A critical line stops. You scan the CMMS history, consult the wiring diagram, and isolate a sensor failure. With the right parts and a precise plan, you restore operation and capture the root cause in a clear email summary. Next, you execute scheduled PMs—lubrication, inspections, pneumatic checks—updating Excel/Word logs and preparing for the next production window.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years in a maintenance position.
• Manufacturing experience; heavier or similar industries are a strong fit.
• Proven track record in equipment repair.
• Experience with electromechanical systems (switches, sensors).
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams during equipment breakdowns.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric systems.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, complex instructions, and internal managerial communications.
• Preventive maintenance and maintenance planning in a CMMS environment.
• Functional knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word (or equivalent).
• Email proficiency for tracking and documenting issues/resolutions.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance.
• PLC/automation exposure or experience.
• Coursework toward Journeyman maintenance mechanic technology.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair equipment across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot electromechanical components, including switches and sensors.
• Leverage wiring diagrams to resolve breakdowns efficiently.
• Interpret blueprints and follow complex work instructions; respond to internal communications from managers.
• Plan and perform preventive maintenance using a CMMS.
• Document work thoroughly with Microsoft Excel/Word and email.
